Scarring Prevention
Although this is technically not a treatment for scarring, it is far more important and effective than treating the scar once it forms. A big, red flag that scarring is likely to occur is when you have a slightly firm red area where an acne lesion occurred within the last several weeks. There is a “window of opportunity” to treat these spots with pulsed dye laser therapy or intralesional injection to minimize the risk that a scar will form; because the consequences are so important, our office will almost always be able to squeeze you into the schedule within 24 hours for treatment.
